HDMI Converter changes how you view TV
The problem
With the ever increasing speed of the internet and the growing availability of web video content we are finding it easier and easier to watch what WE want to watch when WE want to watch it. We no longer are stuck watching what the TV stations are willing to show us. With companies like Hulu, Netflix, and others giving us access to instant on demand videos, who wants to wait until a certain time of day to watch a certain show. You can just pick what you want to watch and start watching.
Some people are running into one small problem with these web-services, however. The problem is we are stuck watching the video at the desk of our computer, or on a tiny laptop screen. What about watching it on our 50 inch LCD TV, from the comfort of our couch?
The Solution
This is easier than many realize. Most computers have VGA outputs on them, and most HDTVs have HDMI inputs. So take that computer of yours and stick a VGA to HDMI converter on it. This will allow you to show your computer's display on the TV. It does this by simply taking the video signal your computer is already outputting it and combines it with the computer's audio signal, then converts it into an HDMI signal that is formatted and compatible with your HDTV.
This allows us to view anything from the internet, or anything at all on our computer, on our TVs. Now you can watch WHAT you want, WHEN you want, WHERE you want!
My own experience
I have had a computer set up, connected to my TV for years now. With the recent boom in companies offering free or subscription based video streaming I hardly ever watch live TV anymore. If i'm in the mood to watch TV, I watch exactly what I want to watch.
Using these systems completely changes what it means to watch TV. It has made my free time in front of the TV incredibly more enjoyable. It will do the same for you.

Using a standard definition TV?
If you want to do this, but have a standard definition TV check out my hub on Choosing a VGA to RCA Adapter.
Also if you have a TV that only has a Component connection (The Red, Green, and Blue connections) then check out Component VS. Composite Conversion.
