USB to HDMI puts it on your TV

As an outdoor enthusiast I'm often out hiking, biking, or rock climbing when my favorite TV shows are on. When I do find myself at home with some time to watch those shows I need to be able to watch them when, where, and how I want.

When and Where

Internet streaming services like Hulu and Netflix have created the ability to watch the shows we want to watch whenever we want. We are no longer tied to the schedule outlined in our friendly TV guide. In addition to being able to watch things whenever we want, we have been granted extra freedom in where to watch it. We can watch these things wherever we can get an internet connection on our laptops.

How

Now this is the stuff I really wanted to get into. The way I want to watch these shows is from the comfort of my couch, on my big screen HDTV. I'm constantly finding new ways to accomplish this and I've got a suggestion for anyone looking to do the same. It's called a USB to HDMI adapter. This adapter connects to the USB port on a computer, laptop or desktop, and adds an HDMI output to the computer. This will give you the ability to output from your computer onto any HDMI capable HDTV.

This is an excellent solution for anyone who's laptop doesn't have an HDMI port. It also works great if you've got a spare desktop you want to hook to the TV, but can't add an internal video card to it.

It's So Easy

On of the best parts of this device is that it doesn't require you to disconnect anything from your computer (unless of course ALL of your USB ports are already taken), or take anything apart. You simply plug the device into the computer and your TV and that's it.

The device comes with some simple software you install to tell the computer how to use the adapter, but it requires very little configuration, if any.

This doesn't take much, but it sure provides a great solution to allow you to use your TV as a monitor for your PC.
